about

"Sheepskin Dreamland" was recorded in November 1975 at The Bunker.

Jerry had departed earlier that summer and we were rehearsing with our new drummer Paul Black out at the Lindquist Family property. Their beautiful home was built overlooking The Straits in Port Townsend and used to have some military buildings on it to watch for submarines. One of them was an out-building we called "The Bunker"-even though it wasn't really an underground bunker, it kind of felt that way inside, being all cement. The Lindquist family were so cool (Gus Lindquist played the trumpet, and his daughter Ann still plays flute). When we asked if we could practice there they, like the Munds had earlier in our career, said "Sure! Just don't play too late into the evening." We did anyhow as I recall.

We also did a few recordings there and got some fine material out of it. This piece is based on "Dreamland" (see track #2) but rearranged substantially (and renamed by Paul) to fit Paul's style. Enjoy this bit of Glass nostalgia which has never been released before!
